Relentless: Tempest of torment

14/10/10  ||  Daemonomania

More like… wait for it… TEMPEST OF BORE-MENT! Ah ha ha ha ha! Cast me as Robin William’s hairy penis in the next big feelgood family grossout blockbuster, Hollywood. My agent will be waiting by the phone.

Reviewing shall commence. This is one of those albums I bought for under two dollars from Ebay back when it seemed everything death metal produced by the country of Sweden was bound to be great. Relentless proved to be a punishing exception. “Tempest” gathers dust on my tradelist for a thousand years now. No one will ever, ever swap me for it unless they have a disc in their collection that’s actively giving them herpes or raping their pets.

What we have here is some Scandifarians who appreciate the work of Cannibal Corpse LLC. Kinda like Insision, but much worse. For some reason Americanized Swedeath has yet to stir my loins. Maybe Aeon will teach me otherwise when I miraculously find money next to the herpes cream in my pocket and purchase their much-lauded output.

Aeyonce must have more going on in the songwriting, growls, drumming, and noticeable bass (duder is now in Coldworker, way to move on up) departments than their countrymates in Relentlessville/Örebro/Lindesberg. Aside from a riff or two in “At war”, a song title owned by Rebaelliun, and “Kneedeep in gore” this shit is torment indeed. Appropriate score follows.

2,5
